At the Five O’Clock Steakhouse – where I am managing partner – I have built a tradition of showing appreciation for our community by supporting nonprofits working hard to help Milwaukeeans in need. In March 2023, a portion of all sales will go to Our Next Generation.
Founded in 1992, Our Next Generation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, community-based organization that provides academic support and enrichment programs for students, kindergarten through high school, in central Milwaukee.
Its programs are designed to address a holistic view of the needs of our community’s children and young adults. This means that in addition to providing focused academic support, seeking to create a nurturing environment where children feel welcomed, safe; and valued; build a collaborative network of parents, families, teachers, volunteers and staff to support each student’s needs; foster meaningful and sustained one-on-one relationships between students and their volunteer mentors; expand students’ horizons by exposing them to a variety of enriching environments and potential future careers; and invest students in protecting, improving, and taking pride in their neighborhood and local community.
