In the 1940’s the Coerper’s Five O’Clock Club was the hotspot of the town. The luxury piano bar contained the swanky and elite looking for a good time. Patrons that did not want to be seen entering the nightclub did so by a hidden door in the alleyway where they could press a buzzer to be let discreetly inside. Today, Coerper’s has transformed into the Five O’Clock Steakhouse, compete with the Alley Cat Lounge that still stands from over 70 years ago.
The lounge has been renovated and currently hosts live entertainment on the weekends. A mix of new elements compliment the historic ones that managing partner Stelio Kalkounos has decided to keep in honor of the lounge’s history. For 70 plus years the Alley Cat has been treating its customers to musical hits, fantastic drinks, and a night to remember. Today, the lounge is a private event space and the host of weekend entertainment in one of the hottest venues in Milwaukee.
